Health Data (HealthKit)
SnapCal integrates with Apple HealthKit to provide a seamless nutrition tracking experience. With your explicit permission, we read and write Active Energy Burned (Calories), Body Weight, and dietary nutrition data including energy, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.
This data stays on your device and within the Apple Health ecosystem. We do not store your HealthKit data on our servers.
Meal Data and AI Processing
When you use the AI recognition feature through a meal photo or text description, that content is sent to Google Gemini AI for processing.
- Images and text are used only to identify food and estimate nutrition values.
- Meal photos are not used to train SnapCal-owned models.
Analytics and Diagnostics
SnapCal uses Firebase Analytics to understand feature usage, app stability, and performance.
- Feature usage such as AI scan frequency.
- Crash and performance metrics.
- General device information such as model and OS version.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide AI-powered nutrition estimates.
- Sync nutrition and activity progress with Apple Health.
- Monitor and improve app performance.
3. Data Sharing
SnapCal does not sell your personal data. Data is only shared with:
- Google (Gemini AI): only meal content you request us to analyze.
- Google (Firebase): anonymous usage and diagnostic data.
4. Your Choices
You can revoke access to HealthKit or Camera permissions at any time in iPhone Settings.
